Yes, this PS 3 is compatible with US and Canada format.I'm 100% positive, but if i remember right from when I did a research paper on the PS3, the PS3 games will have region free coding. Meaning you can play Russians games in America, and Candian Games in Austalia and wherever. Don't take my word for it, but im pretty sure thats how it is.

the ntsc is old since the 40's is now been replace by atsc with all the new tech I will say it will be compatible.
